When writing for this blog, I avoid talking explicitly about my own capoeira environment (the group, my school, the people) and make abstractions instead. Today I’m breaking that rule, but with good reason!

This year I have been practising capoeira for just over 20 years and the same goes for my partner in crime capoeira. We wanted to celebrate that somehow with the capoeiras we love and grew up with. Also, it has been over 5 years since we last organized an event ourselves and we had the ambition to do something new. So, putting 1 and 1 together, I came up with the idea to organize a new event in our city to commemorate our capoeira anniversary and bring capoeirisas together.

I see the event as a culmination of a lot of things for me personally and I really do want to share that experience with you, my readers. So, hereby I invite you all to join us at Simbora Camará which will take place on 24-25-26 November in Belgium!

Proposition

Do you love playing capoeira? Do you like to learn from skilled professionals? Do you enjoy meeting new people in the capoeira community? Then you don’t want to miss Simbora Camará, a new capoeira event taking place from the 18th until the 20th of November in Leuven (Louvain), Belgium.

The weekend is not only a commemoration of the 20 years of experience of both hosts, but also a celebration of capoeira itself. We focus on two aspects: having a fun an open environment to create the best capoeira games and offering high value classes to level up your skills.

Capoeira never stops. Whether you’ve just started or have been practising for many years, there’s always new things to discover. Hence our motto:
